Vilnius Lithuania Culture

Lithuania's capital Vilnius has been the European Capital of Culture (ECOC) since 2009. Lithuania's capital attracts visitors and delights them with a unique Lithuanian cultural scene. For the past four weeks I have been calling Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, as my home and I am happy to be here.

The fall of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania came when the Commonwealth was dissolved and Lithuania was effectively divided between Prussia and the Russian Empire. The Swedish army plundered Vilnius during the Great Northern War and thus entered the Russian Empire.
